I ...Russ - bring it. I will kill you in your face.

I was born, quite decisively I might add, at the very beginning of 1980. More to the point, I was born to a very young and indescribably hip woman. She didn't sing me lullabies, she sang me Madonna and Cyndi Lauper. I can remember quite clearly my horror when I discovered they were two different singers - I couldn't tell them apart at age three. You do not want to get me started on my mom's fashion sense - which has remained firmly anchored to 1985. Rips in the ass of her jeans don't even begin to cover it.

I remember Reagan, I remember the NKOTB, I remember jelly shoes, side ponytails, those t-shirt clips that let you make anything into a belly t and I remember the mc hammer pants that, let's face it, we all wore.

Yeah, Yeah I think you can be born and raised in the same decade. If, and only if, that decade was the 1980's. They just don't make decades like they used to.Nessa Happenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12454080363207458241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9948767.post-4343755913346568402006-12-29T10:54:00.001-05:002006-12-29T10:54:00.001-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Nessa Happenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12454080363207458241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9948767.post-8643491349508677452006-12-29T10:54:00.000-05:002006-12-29T10:54:00.000-05:00I think the best thing about MmmBop was that it wa...I think the best thing about MmmBop was that it was just some brothers rocking out and having fun with it.

Sadly, repeated airplay killed it.. like most great songs.

The 80s were a funny time. If one is born in 80, 81, or 82 you might have some recollection of popular culture (as opposed to child culture), but not much... I myself don't recall all that much of the 70s.
