Radio, TV and magazines-oh my!

I don't know if ALoyd was serious or not about wanting me to talk about Grey's Anatomy, but it reminded me that I absolutely do need to talk about it. And several other different media outlets.

RADIO
My new favorite song is "Updside Down" by Jack Johnson. You can see the video/listen to it here. Mmmm...you are yummy, Jack. I will sop you up with a biscuit.

TV
Grey's Anatomy - First I just want to say that last week's hot dog eating contest was the best thing I've seen on TV in a long time. Also Sunday's episode-OMG (if you haven't seen it, stop reading).

  1. I cried my effing eyes out the entire episode. What are you trying to do to me, Grey's Anatomy!?
  2. Izzie has a baby!?!? This is an amazing plot twist. Even more shocking than her having a baby is how amazing her body looks after having a baby. What a bitch.
  3. Seriously can Meredith and McDreamy just get back together already? When he was comforting her in the closet I actually thought to myself in my head "OMG they are so meant to be". I am such a loser.
  4. George's last line made me pee my pants.
  5. Alex, you are so pretty it hurts.
  6. DID YOU SEE THE PREVIEWS FOR NEXT WEEK!? WTF is a Code Black??

Lost - Can you please make Charlie fun again? P.S. I'm seriously losing my patience with Ana Lucia. Asking Jack if he's "hitting that" in regards to Kate? Honestly, Michelle Rodriguez-must you be a man in every role you play?

Scrubs - People who don't watch this show are people I don't understand. This includes you, Mom and Dad. Between Elliot saying, "Hey, Rocktors! That's what I call doctors who rock.", Turk singing about having ovulation sex and JD telling Turk he'd make a pretty girl, well it's just too much for my poor underpants to handle. It's on tonight. I might need to wear a Depends.

Jim Gaffigan - Did any of you see the Jim Gaffigan stand up special on Comedy Central on Sunday? It was seriously the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. Just talking about it again with Danielle, Scott and John made me almost have a brain aneurism I was laughing so hard. It's on again Saturday. You will all watch it. Believe me you will not be disappointed.

MAGAZINES
Special Dark asked me to take a look at Details magazine for him because he had just gotten a subscription without really knowing what it was, and he was suspicious of their target audience. I reviewed the evidence at lunch last week, and I can say conclusively that Special Dark is totally reading a gay magazine. There were times I was actually confused about whether or not the article was written for men or women. Especially the one about Jake Gyllenhaal which spent the first half of the article talking about what a babe he was with his deep blue eyes and scruffy stubble (written by a man). Upon stating my conclusion Special Dark exclaimed, "Come on! They have to let a brotha know before they let me order this magazine!!" Unfortunately all I heard was, "Jake Gyllenhaal is dreamy!"

I was so excited to have a chance to break the news to you about the state of the union and sharda beats me to the damn punch. dammit sharda.

i checked your jack johnson video. umm...it's a damn cartoon. are you crazy? it could be done so much better. Like if he just showed him with his shirt off for three minutes, rather than swimming with a cartoon monkey wearing jeans. dammit sarah. i'll never trust you again. -steph

Aughguhghuhh--dammit Steph! I didn't say the video was great. I said the SONG was great! It's the theme from the new Curious George movie so of course it's a cartoon! Dammit woman-when did you lose all your child-like wonderment!?

Ugh! Mcdreamy and Meredith are a total Ross and Rachel. I knew when he took that dog him and his wife were gonna 'work it out'. Puke! Lost sucks my entire week's worth of thinking! I do nothing but try to figure it out, and watch it in slow-mo to catch clues! Did you see all the images in the black smoke monster???? Ack!

McDreamy and Meredith so had a moment in the closet. He gave her the "I'm going to kiss you" look and just barely leaned in. Dammit! This show is so good it has replaced the void "Friends" left. I'm thinking Code Black is a bomb threat...at least that's what it is here.

I'm getting frustrated with Lost. There are too many characters and too many unanswered questions. And, isn't Michelle Rodriguez kinda a guy in real life?

Sarah,
Steph lost her childlike wonderment around the age of 11, when she discovered politics.

SLC- I think you're right, I looked it up since I don't work in a hospital.

I dont know if you saw that I posted a comment to your previous post asking to recap Gray's... but nevertheless, I am glad you did. I was SHOCKED to hear the Izzie was a mother. That makes her a MILF I guess.

Gordon, I don't work in a hospital, but if I did I'd be a damn sexy nurse.

Oh My God! Who are you and where do you live? You just listed all my favourite shows. I'mexcited cuz I can't ever find anyone to talk to about them
Yes Greys Anatomy Rawks!!!- I'm not sure I want to see her and Mcdreamy 2gether again though even if its obvious they should be. That moment in closet was intense I honestly thought he ws going to kiss her maybe he was but I think She pulled away I was proud of her then. I had a post in my blog a while ago about greys you can check it out

Scrubs is the funniest show left on NBC- Elliot is such a spaz she remains me of a smarter me. I'm kinda hoping Turk and Carla doesn't have a baby

I do work in a hospital and we use it for bomb threat...but who knows, we don't have any mcdreamys here so things may be different on TV.

yeah, i may have lost my child-like wonderment, but thank god, b/c the behavior i exhibited this past weekend in NYC would get any child sent away to military school. be glad i'm so mature...I can serve as an example for you all... -Steph

I can't believe how great Grey's Anatomy was! Like you, I also cried about the entire damn episode. The whole thing with Izzy and that 16 year old pregnant girl just did me in. AND then when Merideth watched that old lady pass away.. It was all over for me. Visions of watching my own mom pass away crept into my head and I sobbed like a freaking baby. Grey's Anatomy is quickly becoming the best show on TV. I think it, The Office and LOST are the only ones that I seriously won't miss an episode of.

Speaking of The Office. Let me count the ways in which I love Jim! Pam has to know he's totally in love with her. She needs to dump her fiance! And how many people in your office reminded you of the girl who wouldn't shut up?!?! lol

SLC-Nice work, there definitely are not enough of those in the world...

You are correct. Although it may still be in the closet, Details is definitely a flamingly gay magazine.

CV opened it up, saw Jake and thought, "I'd hit that."

Jim Gaffigan has been a fav of mine for a few years. Love him!

I didn't know about his special until the last 10 mins of it's original airing. I immediately set my DVR to record the next airing. Can't wait to watch!
