Quote of the day

My friend Woody on Sharda's assertion that she won't watch "24" because she hates that everyone she knows watches it and loves it and talks about it all the time:

"Not watching something because everyone says it's good is not a good reason. That's like saying, 'I'm not going to have sex because everyone who has it keeps raving how good it is.'"

shut your mouth woody. you're making me hate 24 more everyday. down with jack bauer.

Careful Sharda, Jack Bauer might break your thumb OFF. He does those things ya know... no fooling around. He even tortured his girlfriend of many months.

I think pretty much every guy does that.

O, did you mean physical torture?

Russ says 24 was cool in season 1, when they used to do some innovative editing (same year the movie Timecode came out with similar effects) and had the then-rare movie star in it.

They blew it not ditching Jack and going with a different story every year. Instead they played it safe by having one spy-intrigue-crazy-day year after year with Kiefer. Boo.

It might be well written but it definitely lame.

No Sharda. You shut YOUR mouth. We may share a love of all things Jack Johnson, and many things punk rock related, but you are dead wrong here.
Just borrow some of the seasons and watch.
Or Jack will maim you. A lot.

Sharda, I'm with you. I refuse to be a bandwagon fan...also the few moments i've seen it are incredibly stressful. I do not watch tv to be tense, i watch it to relax. Hence the reason I love all Bravo reality shows...Top Chef, Blow Out, Real Housewives of Orange County...nothing stressful there. -steph

Go Sharda Go- Why be a sheep to 24? First season was good- then there comes a point where you have to say- meh.

Steph, the people on those damn Bravo shows frustrate the crap out of me. Talk about stress... If Stephen* makes it another week on Top Chef I may have track him down and strangle the punk with his fat-knotted tie.

Jonathon and the "Real" housewives are ok in small doses, properly administered by Joel McHale on The Soup.

Anyway, Top Chef is pretty good (Go Harold) but it doesn't touch the greatness that is Project Runway. Where is the Tim Gunn equivalent??

*I've eaten at Stephen's restaurant, Knob Hill, a couple/few times. Good shit. Don't know if he was there when I was...

Ok, Russ...question...Is Harold gay? I totally have a dreamy crush on him...but is there a chance, i only allow myself to fantastize about men that could love me back (and by love, i mean hump). -Steph

I never got that vibe from him until last night with the slightly odd hug he gave "chunk" upon his leaving. Now I dunno. If asked to guess I'd say you're safe... however you've picked an interestingly sallow guy to have a dreamy crush on.

OK, they cleared it up (obliquely) in his bio.

I don't think Harold is gay because on the first episode he said he took home-economics in school to meet girls. I like him too. Hope he wins.

I've never seen Lost, but that quote is freaking hilarious.

Ten points for Woody.
