So happy

Disclaimer: Don't read if you haven't seen last night's episode of "The Office".

Is the sun shining brighter today? Are the birds singing louder? Does the air smell sweeter? No-actually it's just that

JIM AND PAM KISSED LAST NIGHT!!!!

I know I should probably be worried that a fictional show makes me this happy, but I can't be worried about that right now because I am so happy. Everything he said to her-the whole way it happened-was so perfect. It was beautiful and lovely and romantic, and nothing ever happens like that in real life. Perfect!

I also can't get over how Michael never gets any love from the ladies, and now he has two chicks fighting over him. Fantastic. He was so awesome giving his speech with the glow sticks. And when he was talking about how he gives money to charities and said, "I'm a real big philanderer." God I love this show. Good thing I have all of season 2 on my DVR (seriously) to tide me over during the summer hiatus.

I'm a loser.

If saving "The Office" on DVR makes you a loser, than count me in! I watched last night's episode twice...back-to-back. I thought Jim was going to tell Pam he was transferring. Never expected "I'm in love with you" to come out of his sweet, little mouth.

"The Office" is, by far, my favorite show on TV right now. I wish I could give the writers the traditional paper industry greeting of kisses on both cheeks!

I was waiting for you to write about it. I knew you were going to be in hysterics as much as I was. :-) And the way Jim told Pam... not "I love you" but "I'm IN love with you". So perfect! I'm glowing today as well. Hell, we wasted the first 30 minutes this morning discussing it here at work.

TV is quite a healthy escape from the every day stresses of life.
At least, that's how I rationalize it.
I am going to buy that book this wknd. the bad twin, that was being read on Lost. Cus, their like really stranded there, and my finding clues may help them get off that damn island!!!!!

Damnit I missed it! And then I read about it here because I have no self-control. I'll have to find someone with Tivo and take over their TV.

Sarah, I've been sighing all day. When he was crying after his confession...and the kiss OMG. Here's what a loser I am. Pam (well, Jenna) has a blog linked from The Office's web site and I left a comment.

You know what I hate? I hate when sitcoms turn into dramas. When I watch a sitcom, I don't want happy or sad, I want funny goddammit. I stopped watching Friends toward the end for the same reason.

Then you've got about 80 options of fat funny guys with shrewish hot wives to choose from.

Gimme the blend. M*A*S*H, Roseanne and I'm sure others I'm forgetting are not only better because of having real emotions, but because even the funny is funnier when you can inject humor that is dark, absurd, and real.

O, BTW, Friends totally never had any real emotions just forced melodrama, so you were right on there.

Everyone shut it about Friends before I go medieval on your asses.

Right! Maybe that's what I hate. The obvious attempts to manipulate the viewer's emotions and make the studio audience go "awwwwwwww"

So you're right. If it's done well, it works. Good call on the Mash.
